Kargil, located amidst snow laden peaks, magnificent mountains and sparkling blue skies is identified world over for being the land where India successfully triumphed over Pakistan in the 1999 war.
This place is a reflection of India’s independence and upholding that virtue, we embarked on a challenging journey to enable people with physical disabilities at Kargil.
Despite its popularity, this region continues to be isolated from the social schemes of the government. Many small villages continue to be disconnected due to limited access and connectivity in this region. The limited transportation facilities in this region, restricts access of the people to healthcare facilities in the region.
Ratna Nidhi with a mission to uplift people with physical disability in India, embraced on a journey to travel to Kargil. Travelling through the rocky terrain by road, amidst snow to make a difference has helped us increase our own bar of impacting communities in remote regions of India.
